MONITORING OF VEHICLES AND INFRASTRUCTURE

Life-cycle-cost (LCC) considerations need a consistent monitoring.

IGRALUB offers reliable systems for this application. The monitoring systems developed and installed for this purpose are for railway infrastructure as well as for vehicles. The systems operate through wireless communication between the vehicle and a base server. From there, the data can be processed and displayed via a special web application.
This vehicle and infrastructure management system makes it easier to check the current status and the efficiency of implemented measures.

Fleet monitoring

Setup at neuralgic network nods, wayside monitoring units primarily collect sound and vibrational data of passing vehicles.

Infrastructure monitoring

Train borne monitoring units installed in regular vehicles record noise, vibrational data and pantograph impacts. A few regular vehicles collect much more statistically robust data in considerable shorter time than dedicated measuring vehicles can do.

LUBRICATION SYSTEMS

LUBRICATION SYSTEMS must guarantee that the application of the lubricant is placed:

– at a specific location(inner or outer rail in a curve, top-of-rail/rail sides)
– at a specific time and for a specific duration (hours / daily use)
– in a controlled quantity.

These three functions are the minimum requirements for a successful lubrication system. Two main groups of systems are currently offered on the market: stationary and mobile lubrication systems.

Mobile lubrication systems for railhead and wheel flange

The spraying systems are installed in the trains, which are controlled by high-end GPS computers and spray the special lubricants from IGRALUB directly onto the rail head. When the pre-programmed position is reached, the computer detects this and sends a signal to the spraying device.

With this technology, a complete coverage of the track can be achieved with relatively low investment costs.

GPS control for mobile spray systems

TOR is an independent electronic control. Because of location detection signals (GPS, control systems) TOR recognizes specified lubrication points before curves and rail points that are registered on a card, and passed on corresponding signals (direction, braking, speed, weather, time, etc.),are defined in spray commands. TOR meets the requirements for the treatment of the rail head and is successfully used for the rail head conditioning.

Manual control

The command to spray the rail head is given manually by means of a pushbutton in the driver’s cab. This set-up is recommended for small railways and mountain railways.

Stationary lubrication systems

Stationary rail lubrication systems for punctual and efficient use.

Stationary high-end rail lubrication systems fulfil all criteria which are a prerequisite for lubrication systems. They are used to protect critical track sections in the network against wear and to effectively prevent noise.

They consist of high-quality individual components and are very simple and modular in design. This allows a tailor-made, customer-specific design with low costs and highest quality at the same time.

The exact dosing of the smallest quantities of the biodegradable lubricant (0.25ccm per lubrication point!) enables highly efficient lubrication with the most economical discharge quantities.
